April 29 to May 1, 2022
Nepal’s first 100 mile ultra marathon, along the ridge of the Kathmandu Valley.
The Manjushree Trail Race takes runners along the ridge line of the Kathmandu valley and across all 7 peaks surrounding the valley. Although only a few hours away from Nepal’s capital, participants will only see glimpses of the city at times and mostly be running through the national parks that surround the valley and cover its rim.
With its 177 km and over 12,500 meter elevation change on single tracks and trail, the race offers a magical but brutal challenge.
The race is inspired by the story of the god Manjushree who walked around the large lake that used to occupy the valley, before cleaving the rim, drowning out the lake and thereby creating he valley in which Kathmandu later on was founded.

My son and daughter-in-law are running in the 100 mile and 50k races this weekend, are there any photos available for us supporters in the UK?

Check the trailmandu Facebook. But generally not. Small team and poor internet on the hills so probably will be tomorrow.
