December 2012 – end of an era! You may know Roger Henke. I first heard of him through his promotions of the Annapurna 100 in 2009 when it was a 70-ish km race and through these promotions is where I first discovered trail running. Roger worked hard for several years to make the Annapurna 100 a quality trail race, moving it off roads and onto trails and getting back up to the 100km distance.
Together we began trailrunningnepal.org to host information about, obviously, trail running in nepal. Reger was a prodigious explorer, spending long saturdays trying to find the best trails available in and around the Kathmandu Valley producing a library of routes on his everytrail page, Nepal Running.
The photo below was taken at the end of the first day of a final great run, from Trisuli river crossing the Chepang trekking trail dropping down into the Terai.
Roger currently lives in Cairo and blogs on his website http://rogerhenke.com/
