"I am originally from Solukhumbhu. I dropped school in 9th grade and took up a job as domestic help to earn money. I was consistently in first position in school from 2nd grade to 7th grade and I lost motivation to continue studies in seventh grade when my rank dropped to second position. So I dropped out first time and took up a job. My parents are farmers and income was important to us. I rejoined the school after a year but in 9th grade I finally decided to drop out for good.

"I used to work as a domestic help in an affluent house in Solukhumbu. While going to one day work I noticed Everest Marathon runners and came to know that there is a sport like this. I always wanted to participate in the Everest Marathon but never got chance while I was in Solukhumbu. I came to Kathmandu in 2010 and lived with my sister. She registered me in the Kantipur half marathon and I ranked eighth which was good for my first race. My sister asked her friends in her office to help me run the Everest Marathon and they did! That’s how I ran my first dream trail race."
