The location of this festival may change, and thus so will the route. The date is fixed for the 19th however.

A great 50km course hosted alongside the 2015 Himalayan Outdoor Festival 2016. The website is going to be updated soon-ish, but keep the date for your diary. This will be the second edition on this excellent course.
Race website is here: http://ultratrailkathmandu.com/west-kathmandu-valley-rim-50km/
The race starts at the gate of the Nagarjun National Park and climbs 888m straight to the summit of Jamacho at just over 2000m. After a tricky kilometer on a rocky forest road, the trail breaks off on super forest trails to the rim of the valley and follows it through villages down to the main road out of the Kathmandu Valley. After approximately 2km on a gravel road, there is a steep, long, unrunable climb on narrow paths. This meets a seldom used jeep trail which reaches Chitlang Bhanjyang (pass) which then descends and loops around a ridge back into to the valley seen below. There’s another climb to gain the ridge of Champadevi, and the ridge is followed home to Hattiban.
