If you are looking for a great way to combine Trail running and trekking, the Langtang and Helambu trek is a winner and offers a lot of potential for anything from three days to more than a week of great mountain running.
A year ago I ran from Sundarijal along the wonderful ridge connecting Shivapuri to the Jugal Himal range spending the night at Therapati after a long day of uphill, then continuing over the Laurebina La to Gosaikunda and then down to catch the bus back at Syabru Besi. Two very long days and a high pass (not for the unacclimatised) but great trails and great views. And with food, water and accommodation available at regular intervals along the way you need to carry next to nothing. Almost all lodges can give you a pile of blankets for the night so you just need to carry dry underwear and not much more.
