We’re trying to keep up with what’s happening in Nepal’s vicinity. The long established Bangelore ultra trail, held every year in November, has made it to our Asia events page. Our spectacular partner Thehigh, for which we are a qualifier, obviously did too, as have the globeracers’ events.
But it turns out we’ve missed a new 50 km addition to the trail race calendar, held last March! The trail is in a park, but what matters is that a run like this introduces novices to off road running and offers them a chance to go beyond marathon and experience that any fears regarding such distances are unwarranted.
The winning time for the men, below 4:30 is very decent given the 35 degrees day time temperatures that the runners had to deal with! And the women’s winner was Corinna Luna who ran the Annapurna50 last January with us. The report gives a bit of background on the establishment of this run and it is all about bringing Ultras to India by Indian runners who run them overseas.
